Ballet/Pointe

Ballet is a highly technical and graceful form of dance that originated during the Italian Renaissance and later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia. It is characterized by its precise movements, formalized positions, and a strong emphasis on symmetry, balance, and poise. Ballet combines artistic expression with athleticism, requiring dancers to possess strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance. It remains a foundational technique in many dance forms and continues to evolve with contemporary influences, maintaining its relevance and allure in the world of performing arts.
Pointe dance is a subset of ballet where dancers perform on the tips of their toes (en pointe) using specialized pointe shoes. It requires extensive training, strength, and technique to achieve the illusion of weightlessness and grace. Pointe work adds an extra dimension of elegance and
sophistication to classical ballet choreography, allowing dancers to showcase their artistry with fluidity, strength, and poise.
Tap
Tap dance is a rhythmic dance style where dancers use their feet to create sounds by striking
the floor with metal taps attached to their shoes. It's known for its intricate footwork, syncopated
rhythms, and improvisational elements. Tap dancers often create rhythms and melodies through
a combination of heel and toe taps, producing complex and dynamic patterns.

Jazz
Jazz dance is a dynamic and expressive style that originated from African American vernacular dance forms. It combines elements of ballet, modern dance, and African dance with

Hip-Hop
Hip-hop dance is a dynamic and energetic style that originated as part of hip-hop culture in the 1970s in the Bronx, New York City. It encompasses a wide range of urban dance styles, including breaking, locking, popping, and freestyle. Hip-hop dancers often incorporate elements of rhythm, groove, and attitude, expressing personal style and creativity through movement.

Lyrical
Lyrical dance is a fluid and expressive style that emerged in the mid-20th century as a
response to classical ballet and modern dance. It emphasizes freedom of movement, emotional
expression, and personal interpretation. Lyrical dancers explore a wide range of
techniques and movements, incorporating elements of ballet, modern dance, and improvisation
to create innovative choreography and narratives.
Modern
Modern dance is a broad genre that emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a rebellion against the constraints of classical ballet. It focuses on expressing emotions and ideas
through organic movement, emphasizing natural gestures, and exploring the relationship between body and space. Modern dance often features fluid and sharp movements, floor work, and
abstract choreography.
